Post Procedure Care Instructions
After your permanent cosmetics procedure, slight redness and irritation of the area should be expected. Depending on your skin sensitivity, swelling of the area may persist. This can be remedied by applying a clean ice pack or bag of ice on the area in 10 minute intervals. Keep the area clean of things such as dirt and oil.
Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before cleaning your new eyebrows. When cleaning the area, do not use any exfoliator or acid based products. It shouldn’t, but if scabbing or peeling occurs, do not pick at them. Do not apply makeup directly on top of the treated area. To remove makeup worn around the area, wash with water and a fragrance free soap or a baby wipe. Avoid harsh cleansers and makeup removers.
What to Expect
After the first application, your microblading will settle unevenly. A touch up session, which is included in the price, is to be performed at around 4-6 weeks. At that time the color, fullness, and shape will be perfected based on how your new microblading has healed. If the touch up is performed any sooner, there is a high risk of scarring the area.
Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab or pad when cleaning the area during the first 7-10 days, as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.
It is essential to avoid the following for the first 7-10 days:
Excess sun exposure
Excessive sweating (salt in sweat can affect pigment retention),
Direct water exposure (such as showers and makeup removal)
Microblading/Microshading:
Immediately following the procedure and for the next few days, your eyebrows will appear very dark and prominent. That is due to excess pigment oxidizing from air exposure. Slight peeling may occur between days 3-6 but scabbing is prevented with Alicia's aftercare instructions. Your brows may appear lighter or faded after the dark stage due to new granular skin cells growing over the pigment. The color will reappear in about 2-3 weeks as it heals. Eyebrows are never perfectly symmetrical however shape and color adjustments can be done during the perfecting session.
At your appointment, Alicia will go over the aftercare process necessary for ideal healing. You will be given instructions customized for you and your skin type. It will be communicated verbally incase there are any questions, as well as given to you to take home and refer to at your leisure.
